While I was visiting with my son, Jonathan, and his family this past weekend, we went in search of a Christmas tree.
Before we went out looking for the tree, we played in the snow. My grandson loves his new spiderman winter gear.
Looking for a tree...
Found one!

Starry, Starry Night and Big Lake Superior Agates
I hope that everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving Weekend. I certainly did. Thanks to Lois and Jamey for both having me over for dinner on Thursday as well as for them allowing me to set up a mini-booth for Starry, Starry Night -- which is Grand Marais's version of Black Friday.
I took just a few photos of my set up....
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to shop, chat, snack, and share a few laughs!
At the end of the evening one of my Minnesota friends, Chris Seidl, stopped by to sell me some agates. Then he brought in one of his "agate mafia" boxes and showed us some of his big agates (not for sale).
Two pounder...
Peeler...
Another peeler...
Sagenite....
Nice candy striper....

Happy Thanksgiver -- Some Snow is on the Ground in Grand Marais
Happy Thanksgiving. I hope it is joyous, fun, and safe for everyone!
Here is cranberry dish I made for dinner. I am also making green been casserole from scratch.
We do have a few inches on the ground in Grand Marais.

Mackinac Bridge
On my way home this past weekend, I set up my camera in the car so all I had to do was hit the button. Of course, I wanted to make sure I concentrated on my driving and not on the camera.

Weather Change: Golf to UofM Snow Bowl Game in One Day
Early last Friday I drove down to Mount Pleasant, Michigan. I met up with friends, Steve and Linda, and we played golf on a beautiful day with temperatures in the 70s. It is only the second day all year I have played golf. It was fantastic.
Before we left Mount Pleasant, Linda documented our game clothing....
We passed a Michigan bus along the drive...
It did snow during our drive...
While we were preparing for the cold, I had to document Steve's hat...
We parked downtown and walked through part of campus on the way to the stadium. While Steve was taking a picture of me next to the rotating cube, I was photo-bombed by a girl who was walking by.
We tried to get into Shemblechler Hall. but just missed their open hours. When I took the picture of Steve, I was focusing on his theatrics and I missed part of Bo's statute.
I did a better job on the second photo...
Just for reference, I have five layers of clothing on as well as an extra hat and two extra pairs of mittens/gloves in my pockets. This Yooper was prepared for both rain and snow, as well as the 25 mph wind and the cold. Others sitting near us were not prepared. Some had to leave at half time because they were freezing.
I love Steve's hat...
It showed off and on throughout the game. Thankfully, it did not rain.
With around eight minutes left in the game, the snow intensified...
We are very happy that Michigan won the game! Now we have to beat Ohio State this next Saturday!
Due to the weather I decided to not bring my own camera into the stadium. Thanks to Steve for sharing the photos he took on his cell phone.
