More Sable Falls area photos
Yesterday Lois Fite and I exercised on the Sable Falls steps again. We did our normal routine wherein we walk down and up all the steps twice. On the third time we reward ourselves with hiking all the way down to the beach before going up the third time.

Sable Falls to beach
For exercise yesterday hiking partner, Lois Fite, and I went up and down the Sable Falls steps a couple of times and then for variety, walked the trail along the river for a while. It was a great exercise session except that Lois ended up with two ticks. Seems early for them.
The falls with a lot of flow...
Looking west....
Looking east....
Artifact buried on the beach. Looks like a gear from a shipwreck.
The bluff continues to erode.

First drive of the year west on H58
I went to Marquette and was able to take H58 west for the first time this year. The road surface was free of snow, but there is still snow along the side of the road and in the woods.
I drove into Twelve Mile Beach. There is a pathogen killing the white birch trees. So sad....
I walked over to the bluff....
Shoreline photos....
Next I stopped at the Log Slide. The viewing platform has broken off and slid down the dune. Thus, the platform area is closed.
So I walked through the woods to the west of the platform to get a couple of photos.
By the time I arrived back in Grand Marais, I was able to capture the last part of the sunset.

Easter Time with Family
I had a blast down state with my son and his family.
Keenen playing in their back yard....
...and helping dad build a new bench.
On Saturday of Easter weekend the city of South Lyon put on a huge Easter egg hunt. They filled (with candy) and spread out 14,000 plastic eggs! Below Keenen is collecting eggs with his cousin.
When we arrived home we colored real eggs.
Then we walked over to the elementary school and flew a kite.

Botanical Gardens
This past week I went down state to meet with my tax accountant, buy part of a collection of agate slabs, and visit with family and friends. Last Friday I went on an outing with grandson for the first time. We went to the natural history museum in Ann Arbor as well as to the botanical gardens, a play park, and out to lunch. We had a blast.
Over the bridge....
I actually forgot to bring my camera into the museum. When I told Keenen, he said "What a bummer." After lunch I took him to a park located in the neighborhood I lived in when my kids were born.
Then we went to the UofM botanical gardens....
