The other night I decided to walk around Grand Marais bay to see the new break wall up close and personal. The break wall is not done yet, but as you can see below there is just a small section required to connect to the east wall.
Sand is already starting to build up to connect the break wall to the shoreline.

The Sucker River has not continued moving this summer. One reason may be due to the low river level so it doesn't have the power to continue pushing through the sand.
Here is a shot of what is left of Lonesome Point, along with some more beach walkers.
The fall colors have started....
This is a dry creek bed documenting the drought. There is no water at all in the creek that is usually around a foot deep. In past years this creek used to empty into the bay.
