Grand Sable Dunes Hike to Log Slide

The other day I went on a great dune hike with a friend of mine visiting from Colorado.  Clare and I have gone on many hikes over the years in many different states, but she enjoys the dunes as much as I do.

We parked at the Masse Homestead trail head and hiked through the woods, up into the dunes, across the dunes to the shoreline and Log Slide, and back the North Country trail to our car.

The best way down a steep dune is glissading on your butt.

After hiking for around an hour we arrived at the Lake Superior bluff.

We hiked along the bluff to the Log Slide.
