The day before yesterday I did ski with exercise partner, Lois Fite, but I didn't take many photos and did not post a blog yesterday. We skied the road that goes to the Sable Lake boat ramp. Along side the road there is a creek that has some step down waterfalls.
Then yesterday we snowshoed up the bluff in the Donahey Woods past First Creek...
The path goes up the bluff above the beach....
We then circled up a ridge in the woods south of the bluff...
When you get back to the bluff, this time of year without leaves on the trees you can actually see Grand Marais Bay, the shoreline east of town, and Coast Guard Point (not pictured)...
The best view of the shore ice and icebergs is from the top of the bluff....
Next we headed down to the beach....
Harbor lighthouse popping up above the icebergs...
Au Sable Point lighthouse is in the background....
Floating ice....
