Thanks to my son, Jonathan, for brushing the walking trails on my
property. I have been enjoying them the past few days. The other night
I practiced my golf chipping first, and then I took my camera with me
for a walk around my property .....

Grand Marais Kayak Symposium
This week I have been busy after the museum closed working on a webpage update and other projects, so I have not gone hiking. Yesterday when I went to the post office, I stopped along the bay and documented some of the kayak symposium participants. They took over the bay in Grand Marais.

Log Slide Area Hike
Last night I went on a solo hike in the Grand Sable Dunes. I entered the dunes from the Log Slide end. It was a gorgeous evening. Since the wind was off the lake, there were no bugs!
The trail to the platform, which eroded away this past winter, is now fenced off and closed.
Thistle...
Au Sable Lighthouse....
This sign was posted at the Log Slide.

Another Beach Fire Dinner
A couple of nights ago we had a beautiful evening in Grand Marais. It was sunny and cool with a breeze coming off the big lake.
Cooking dinner...
We were disappointed to see that four-wheelers had been on the beach. They left their tracks everywhere.
Nora rolling in the sand....
Beaver is getting big!
For dinner we had Twelve Mile Chops, brussel sprouts with red pepper, and beans. The pork chop recipe was developed by friends and I when we were camping at the Twelve Mile Campground in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. One of my friends submitted the recipe to a national REI competition when she worked for the company. It won first place in the car camping recipe category.
