Summer scenes in Grand Marais, MI

Last week my oldest son and his family visited for a couple of days.  I apologize to any visitors who may have tried to get into the museum on that Sunday, but I did close for the day to be with my family who I have not seen since last December.

First we went down to the beach to collect rocks.

The next day we headed west and stopped by the log slide first.

Next we hiked to Au Sable Lighthouse.

There were thousands of grasshoppers!

Next stop:  Hurricane River.

Finally, we went down to the bay to play in the water and sand!

Grand Sable Dunes Evening Hike and Picnic

 Several days ago I escaped into the Grand Sable Dunes with my hiking friend, Marcia O'Brien.  It was a very hot and humid evening, but a great hike none the less.

Summer Lake Superior Beach Cookout

A couple of weeks ago I organized a beach cookout for my friend, Barb, as well as her daughter and nephew.  We had salad, chicken/veggie foil food, veggie foil food, and fresh blueberry crisp.  It was a fabulous evening with a slight breeze off the Big Lake.  There were no bugs!

We took a walk east to look for the shipwreck.
