Sable Ski and Snowshoe Adventures

This weekend my friends from Marquette, Jimmy and Helen, drove over for a visit.  Helen wanted to go on a few winter adventures and we all watched the Packer game (Helen is a big fan).  It was a bit windy but for the most part the weather cooperated.

First, in the morning Helen and I skied the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore trails.

The snow depth in my yard is closer to three feet, but the snow gauge located on Trail A shows 20 inches.

Then friend, Lois, joined us and we snowshoed up the First Creek hill.

We had to go down the beach and check out the waves hitting the shelf ice.

As we snowshoed back to our cars, the snowmobile groomer went by.

Helen wanted to see the snow depth out on the point and as you can see below, some of the garages are buried.
