Grand Marais, MI July 4th Holiday

Grand Marais has an old fashioned July 4th holiday. Some years I wear the 1880s bear coat in the parade, but it was too hot yesterday so I chose not to. Here are photos from the parade.

The parade lines up on the street in front of the museum....

The start....

My friend, Bob, with a new member of their family.

Although the fireworks were OK, it was different this year. Rather than have single fireworks, they lit off finale groups of fireworks continuously. There was not enough time to "ooo and ahhh." I still captured a few photos.

Grand Marais Sunrise -- but did not see the eclipse

Today there was a chance to see the partial solar eclipse, but at sunrise we had a cloud bank on the horizon. Twenty minutes after sunrise, there was a clear area between clouds, but I did not capture the eclipse.

Checking out the pinata....

Pinata time....

After everyone left, my son and his family went kayaking. I decided to stay on shore.
