My son, Jonathan, and his family arrived in Grand Marais last night. My other son, Kevin, and his family will arrive on Christmas day. It is great having Christmas at my house this year!
Early this afternoon we all went to Sable Falls and down the path to the beach. It was a bit misty, but unusually warm with temperatures in the 40s.
The brewpub was closed today due to a staff party, but they lot Jonathan make a pizza for us. In the years I was co-owner of the brewpub, Jonathan made a lot of pizzas!

Winter Scenes from Agate Beach and Coast Guard Point
The snow continued off and on yesterday but there was more blowing and drifting than anything. When I was in town, I stopped by the boardwalk at Agate Beach and drove out to the end of the point to capture a few winter scenes.
You cannot tell from the photos, but with huge wind and cold temperatures -- it was a cold walk out to the end of the boardwalk.

First Blizzard of the year
Today we woke up to the first blizzard of the year. We probably received around six inches, but the wind is blowing and drifting the snow everywhere. Even though temperatures are supposed to be in the 30s next week, we probably have enough snow now to give us a white Christmas.

Burt Township School Play
Yesterday the local school in Grand Marais put on their annual Christmas play. This year they performed "A Christmas Carol." The kids and staff did a fantastic job.
