Winter Scenes in Grand Marais

The other day, despite the cold with wind chills more than 30 below, I just had to see what the beach looks like.  This is the first time going down to see the beach since I've been home from my travels.  I did not stay out long -- it was cold!

As I looked west, it was obvious there was snow coming our way.  Sure enough, by the time I drove home it was a complete white out.  Then, it didn't stop snowing for at least two days.

Last night I went over to my friend's house to play cribbage.  I took a couple of photos to document the snow.

It was twelve below this morning, but the sun is out.  Temperatures are supposed to rise into the teens for the first time in more than a week.  I'll take the opportunity to roof rake.  As you can see below, the view out my window is obstructed by the snow piling up on the ground and on my roof.  The bottom of the window is at least seven feet off the ground.
