Sky Color

Last night as I sat in my living room editing the history book, the sky just exploded with color.  I really wanted to quit working and head down to the beach to get a better view, but I stayed diligent and just snapped a few photos from my house.  The good news is that I am around 75 percent done with the editing.  Soon, I will be able to start the final layout!

Sable Falls Steps and Beach

My exercise partner, Lois Fite, and I have both been busy, so our exercise sessions continue to be going up and down Sable Falls steps.  On her new smart phone one of the apps says that our three times up and down are equal to between 26 and 28 flights of stairs.  It is interesting that the measurement is not consistent, even though we do the same pattern each time. 

Editing of the history book is a much more tedious process than I was expecting.  Other than working the museum each day, my hour of exercise, and sleeping (some), all I have been doing is working on the editing.  I am more than half way done with this process, so I will just keep going!

Agate Cross B&B--The Best Choice for Lodging in Grand Marais

With all the rain we have had as of late, I have not been able to get out and exercise every day.  Plus, I am so busy incorporating the editors' changes in the Grand Marais history book, that even when I do get out to exercise, Lois and I have been going up and down the Sable Falls steps to be efficient with our time.  The editing is going a bit slower than I expected, but I am working through the process.  I should be done with the final edits by this weekend, after which I will be cutting and pasting the text and photos into the publishing software.  Hopefully I will have the book ready to send to the printer in the next two weeks.

Grand Sable Dune Hike

Last night the clouds were dramatic due to an approaching storm front, so I decided to head up into the Grand Sable Dunes to watch the storm.  I didn't leave until after 8pm, so I did not have enough time to hike all the way across the dunes to the Lake Superior shoreline.  However, I hiked around three quarters of the way.  On the way back the lightning intensified so I had to hurry back to the safety of my car.

While up in the dunes I found an American flag!
