Grand Sable Dunes Snowshoe

Yesterday was the warmest day we have had with temperatures around 40 degrees. We had sunshine most of the time as we parked at Sable Visitors Center, snowshoed to Sable Lake, and headed up into the dunes. The snow pack had condensed, so it was fairly easy going. We hiked about half way across the dunes toward Lake Superior, took a break to enjoy the beautiful weather, and then headed back. We were out for nearly three hours!

Snow has melted from the west facing dunes.

After an hour, we took a break and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
