Memorial Day Weekend in Lewiston, MI

The first part of Memorial Day weekend I spent in Lewiston, MI with my son and his family.  We had rain the first night and a few sprinkles, but overall the weather cooperated.  A great time was had by all (other than the ticks).

Keenen acting silly on the way to the store....

Some-mores....

Fruit trees in bloom....

We filled up at what may be the last full service gas station in Michigan....

We had a great outing at this 1/4 size railroad.  For $6 a person you get a 20 minute ride through a tunnel, two trestles, and past several scenes.

A boulder out front with a cool secondary fill.

The rails are 16 inches apart...

They were using the diesel engine on our tour, but they do have a steam locomotive, too.  This is a picture of the water tower.

One of the owners -- he drives the train, which can get up to 12 mph.

Through the tunnel....

Over a trestle...

Back through the tunnel...

Keenen playing with the helmets...

His method for putting the helmet on....

Swim time....

Kayaking....
