Hike in the Burt Township School Forest

Yesterday, just to be different and because temperatures near 30 degrees were too warm for cross country skiing, we decided to park  past the bridge in the school forest and walk west down the road. We hiked just short of three miles.

I am not sure who is plowing the road past the bridge, but we took advantage so we could just hike without snowshoes or skies.

The school forest is dog friendly, so Jake gets to go with us. We do not take him with us when we go into the national park.

It is hard to tell given that everything is frozen and covered with snow, but this is the wide bend of the Sucker River. This is where my kids caught their first fish in Grand Marais.

It was snowing yesterday, which you can tell by the accumulation on Sharon's hat and jacket.
