Winter is Back and Awesome ISS Photos

This morning is one of the coldest we have had for the past few years.  The thermometer outside my house reads around 2 degrees.  Factoring in the wind the chill factor is around ten below.  The fire in my wood burner is a necessity today.

Yesterday winter did return to the Upper Peninsula.  Parts of the Keweenaw Peninsula received over 20 inches of snow.  In Grand Marais we have around four new inches of snow on the ground, with more expected over the next week.

Here are a few pictures I took during the snow storm yesterday:

This morning the ground is white again...

I really enjoy looking at the pictures taken of Earth from the International Space Station.

Chris Hadfield is one of the crew currently working and living on the International Space Station.   Chris decided as a kid that he wanted to be an astronaut.  This was an unlikely goal given that he is from Canada.  But here he is -- goal achieved.  We can all learn something from his tenacity.  We can also enjoy his photos....
