For today's blog posting I decided to get my digital microscope back out and finish taking close up photos of Lake Superior agates that I started a few weeks ago.
All of these are rough agates found on the beach. All of them show evidence of being agate from the outer surface. In fact, this is true for probably 99 percent of beach agates. This first photo clearly shows banding-- but the banding was only showing in one spot.
