April Snow

The Fastest temperature drop ever recorded was in Rapid City, South Dakota on January 10, 2011. The temperature dropped 49 °F (27.2 °C) in 15 minutes. We didn't beat that yesterday but the temperature dropped from 52 to 30 (22 degrees) in a little over an hour. Thus, it didn't take long for the rain to change to snow.

I am sure that my daffodils were not happy.

Last night the temperatured dropped to around 20 degrees.

The space shuttle Discovery, NASA's fleet leader and the world's most flown spacecraft, lifted off for the last time today to be delivered to the Smithsonian for its permanent display.

Discovery took off  attached to a modified Boeing 747.  It left the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 6:58 a.m. ET for Washington. The ferry flight is expected to take about three and a half hours.

Discovery is destined for the Udvar-Hazy Center at the Smithsonian. The veteran orbiter spent more than a year in space over the course of its 39 missions since 1984, more than any other vehicle to launch and return from Earth orbit.
