Flowers Close Up

For today's blog posting I decided to take close up photos of some more flowers using my USB microscope camera.

I'm not good at identifying wildflowers, but with the help of the Internet I'll do my best.

Indian Paintbrush (I think -- not sure on this one)...

Daisy...

Rose....

Buttercup...

Not sure...

Not sure...

Not a flower, of course, but here are a couple close ups of both sides of a bracken fern leaf.

The next photo is of grass.  Notice the bug...

By the way, I forgot to mention one thing that happened on the canoe trip this week.  As I said, I have done a lot of canoeing in my time, but I never thought to bring a third paddle.  Low and behold, when we were stuck on a sand bar, I used my paddle to try to push us back so we could reorient our direction.  The sand grabbed my paddle.  Yes -- for the first time ever I lost contact with my paddle.  No worry, my friend, Bill, had brought a third paddle.  In just a few seconds we were able to retrieve the lost paddle.  Lesson learned:  always bring a third paddle.

  1. The blue flower, please let me know when you're finally able to identify it. I came across a picture of that flower online but there was no name and explanation about it. I like blue color hence my fascination toward this flower...
