It was a gorgeous day in Grand Marais yesterday so I decided I had to get out for a walk. I parked at First Creek and headed down the west steps to the beach.
As I looked west, I captured this photo of an agate hunter in the background and this driftwood that someone buried and stood upright in the foreground.

It has been a couple of weeks since I've been down the beach. Due to my travels I have not been able to keep up with the winds. The patterns way up the beach show evidence that thee have been significant waves as of late. The variability in wave heights makes these neat patterns...
Tourist art...
When hiking around I love to look for the photogenic detail....
As I drove through town I decided to take a few pictures showing the progress on the break wall. The second contractor is now filling the gap between the original east pier and the new section of break wall completed earlier this year by the first contractor.

Not sure if you've heard about the Pure Michigan photo contest, but if not, you need to google it. Certainly many of your photos would make outstanding entries!
