Western Upper Peninsula Adventure -- Post 7

After leaving Sandstone Falls, we headed to the next area which had parking lots and interlinking paths for two waterfalls.  We went to the one on the right first -- Potawatomi Falls.

Location: Black River Scenic Byway, 14 miles north of Bessemer
Height: 30 feet
Crest: 10 feet
Water Source: Black River
Summary: A very scenic waterfall along an especially nice part of the Black River. An added plus is the close proximity of the equally impressive Gorge Falls. These are two of the most impressive falls on the Black River and are also the two easiest to access.

Then we walked the path along the river and checked out Gorge Falls.  Here is a photo of one of the interpretive signs.

A MN couple took this photo of my sister and I.  I am standing on a rock around which the platform was built.

Gorge Falls was my favorite out of the five along this stretch of the river.

We captured this photo when we were walking back to the car.

We tried to get back to Lake Gogebic for sunset, but only caught the after glow....
