Sable Falls and Dunes Hike -- Post 1

Yesterday I went on a hike with friends, Jamey and Lois.  We started with Sable Falls since we wanted to see what it looks like with peak flow.  In places the steps and boardwalk were clear, but in others they presented a challenge.

Peak flow ...

The mouth of Sable River is currently a delta.

The corner of the dune west of the river is continuing to collapse.

In places where the icebergs have melted -- they left their rocky remains.

A pair of wood ducks were hanging out...

Sedimentary layers in the dune bluff.

The picture below was taken at high speed of water in the river .

Sable River -- higher than normal.
