On my way back from Minnesota I stopped to go hiking with my friend, Helen Riley. I had never hiked the south trails, located next to Marquette Mountain. It was an absolutely gorgeous spring day!
The trails are used for hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing during the winter.
After walking through the woods for around a half hour, the trail headed down next to the Carp River.
Then we hiked to the end of a peninsula. On our left was a channel; on the right the river.
In the channel there was fluorescent green vegetation covering the bottom of the channel.
