Hawaii Botanical Gardens -- Post 1

Yesterday we headed up to the north shore of Oahu.  In the middle of the island we stopped at one of five botanical gardens in the area.  The Wahiawa gardens is a free facility that features tropical rain forest plants.  As some of you know, I really enjoy taking pictures of flowers and trees.  I certainly had my "fix" at these gardens.

The number of colorful blooms are more than you can count...

There are trees with larger trunks and branches than I have ever seen....

Many trees send out roots....

There are lots of palm trees in Hawaii, although most species were introduced and are not native.

Bird of paradise.....

Continued tomorrow....
