School Forest Ski

Yesterday my friend, Lois, and I headed out to the school forest to go cross country skiing.  She was given a set of skies/poles/boots so we had to get out to try them.  For Lois's first ski, we decided to go to the school forest since the road is fairly flat.  It was cold with temperatures in the single digits.  We had some sun, as well as lake effect snow.  Lois did a great job!

The two next photos were taken at the bridge in the School Forest around 20 or 30 minutes apart.  Although most of the ice in the river has sunk, there was a skim of ice on top of the water that captured the snow in the second photo.

We skied to the big bend of the Sucker River.  It was at this spot that my kids caught their first brook trout.
