Yesterday Lois Fite and I headed up into the dunes on snowshoes. It was chilly with a stiff wind on top of all the bluffs, but it was beautiful.
We parked along side the road at Sable Lake and headed up into the dunes.
We just love the contrast of the evergreens on a white snow covered ground.
There is almost no sand showing in the dunes after the two feet of snow that we have received over the last week and a half. We could get another foot of snow this week.
We snuggled down in one of the valleys out of the wind and had a nice picnic.
Then we headed back....
The wind pattern was making awesome linear bands of floating ice on the lake. There must be a name for this.....
